It’s been a bit of a whirlwind the last few weeks and the blog seems to have been buried underneath a pile of other stuff. Thankfully I’ve still had time to go out drinking. I posted this little thing on the train home from the beer festival on Friday, but here’s a more detailed re-cap of my day at Planet Thanet.
Giradin White? That's the beginners' beer! Black Label is your man.
ReplyDeleteJC, when it's a choice between that and the full range of Floris (plus a couple of German lagers), I know what I'm going for!!
ReplyDeleteBloody hell, Mark - that's a terrible range of foreign beer. At our own beer festival in Stockport we usually don't have any foreign beer at all (no room to do it properly amongst other things) but I really do despair when I see some of the foreign beers sold at CAMRA beer festivals up and down the country. Dull industrial lager is still industrial lager whether it comes from Northampton or Namibia.
ReplyDeleteLast year the range was fantastic - lots of Mikkeller (including Brunch Weasel), other Belgians, sours, limited edition Gadds stuff, very good. This year was terrible. To be honest, the cask stuff was good enough that we didn't need to worry about it, I just fancied a drop of refreshing geuze.
